And so it begins

I have been contemplating blogging for a long time now, but never felt I had anything significant to say. I have recently taken a short break from work due to family obligations so this seems as good a time as any to dip my toe into the the next uncharted territory of my life online.

After working non-stop for more years (actually decades) than I care to admit, I now find myself taking some time off to deal with eldercare issues, hence the title of this blog. While I never thought of myself primarily as someone's wife, partner, or daughter, my life of late has been all-consumed by my somewhat unexpected role as the sole caregiver for my elderly father. In the posts to follow, I will elaborate on the road that led me to this place and the scenery and bumps I am encountering along the way.
